Happy Easter 2015!

The good thing is I can schedule the post to be posted even if I am on holiday. I might be lost somewhere while you are reading this. :-)

My children had a good time colouring the eggs the other day using very simple methods, with some McCormick assorted colours egg dye, vinegar, hot water and some candles to draw and write on the eggs. Me and my husband had equally the lovely time..

Have I been Photobombed by Jesus Image?

Alright ladies and gentlemen, hope you are doing great and enjoying your Spring break?!

Easter is getting closer and I will be having some times off and be away for a tiny bit with my lovely family. Can't wait!

 
However, the last days we tried to make the most of the time here in our small mountainous town. Our children's favourite places are waterfalls and we have one special one that we sometimes go for days in a row. Nearby the fall itself the water some part is emerald clear while other is ermm brown-ish clear?, shallow and there is sand area where the children can play. Usually it is very quiet so we have the whole waterfall and mountain just for us. What a treat! We would lay out our snacks, juice etc. My husband would bring out his tiny bottle of beer and I would drink my English tea! 

During the last weekend, we were there alone again. Doing what we normally do. And of course you will find Mrs Richter running around with her cameras eventhough that might have been the 1000th photos from that very area. I just can't help it!
As much as I thought we were all by ourselves there at the waterfall that day, when coming back home, copying all the photos onto my laptop only to discover we weren't in fact alone as we initially thought.

See it for yourself! Can you spot the apparently Jesus image? Or a head figure at all? 

Whether you think it is Godly work, "eggcellent" Easter phenomenon or just the stoney figure, for sure it is nothing spooky here (a message to my Cambodian people). And definitely not a prank on April's Fool day. A lovely coincidence I would say. It is Samana Santa (Holy Week) after all so let's take this as a good sign! Although our family are that of Buddhism, we are somewhat, in a humble way honoured by this sighting.

Felt Easter Eggs Wreath

First of all, I would like to wish all the lovely ladies a happy International Women's Day today! Let's all love, respect, embrace, support, encourage and accept each other.

In my country, when the 8th of March comes around we always joke today all the housewives can have a day off from all the daily chores and just put the feet up to enjoy the day while the men are held responsible doing all the tasks. My mother used to demand my dad doing the beddings first thing in the morning, following by cooking, cleaning, washing, taking care of the children etc. but of course, the keyword is it's just a joke. So most women are going about their routines as usual. 

My husband extra spoiled me a little more today. I got up late to find breakfast and flowers on the table, he made lunch and dinner, took the children out so I had the time to do other things that I couldn't or don't have enough time to do on an ordinary day. I decided to do some crafty works, mainly for Easter as it is approaching. This craft doesn't need too much time or materials. You could actually follow only after seeing the photos. Mine turns out quite neat (still have to improve my chain stitch skill). Anyway, if any of you have other ideas around this, please do share. I would love to see and learn from you too. :-)

What you'll need:

Felt fabric of your favourite colours

Buttons

Wire

Embroidery floss

Needle

Scissor

How to:

1. Cut felt fabric into the shape of egg.
2. Needle and floss time! Embroider two curved lines across the egg-shaped fabric using chain stitch. Here is the webpage where I learned my chain stitch after failing to remember what my mother-in-law taught me. You can replace with other types of stitch if you wish.

3. Sew the buttons between the lines of each felt eggs.

4.  Once you have everything finished, poke two holes at the top of each egg fabric. Then using wire to pierce through the holes one after the other.

5. When all egg fabrics are in, weave the ends of the wire together and there you have it, your easter-themed wreath!
