My best season of the year
Red, yellow, gold here and there
Brown blanket on the wet ground
Snowy white snow'll be soon around
On twigs, branches, floors and towns
Then Bye autumn of the year.
You shall come back glow and gleam
I yearn to walk in the wood
The rustling sound as my feet dive
Through dead leaves pile on the ground
Vivid colours are overhead
My best season of every year.
I wonder how this Cambodian chiquita can make such a wonderful poem about autumn - of all things,It is indeed a very beautiful time of the year with the snow just around the corner. But so different from both Cambodia and the Dominican Republic. Tropical countries where you have spent most of your time. The few times where you have lived in temperate climates through Autumn and Winter must have made a great impact in your life.
